Emily Thompson
Emily Thompson is a professional violin performer and teacher. Emily has a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance from Bowling Green State University and a Master of Music degree from Indiana University in Early Music (baroque violin). She studied violin pedagogy with Mimi Zweig at the Indiana University String Academy, and took Suzuki teacher training from Doris Preucil and Christie Felsing. Emily has taught privately for over a decade, and was violin faculty at Indianapolis Suzuki Academy and assistant in the IU String Academy. She was the founder and director of Indiana Wesleyan University Suzuki Violin Program, where she also served as adjunct professor of violin. She has played in professional orchestras throughout the region, and currently performs in the Fort Wayne Philharmonic and Marion Philharmonic.
