Ecaterina Gerson
Ms Gerson began her violin studies in Romania with Rozalia Stern, a former student of Jenö Hubay. She earned her MA and PhD from the Music Academy in Bucharest.
Attended the ColourStrings course in London (UK), studied chamber music in Nice (France) with Maurice Raskin, a former student of Eugene Ysaye and received her Suzuki teacher training at The School for Strings in New York, under Louise Behrend and continued as faculty upon graduation. She served as assistant to Miss Behrend in the same seminar becoming recently a teacher trainer herself. Previous teaching positions include Queens College (NY) where she also served, for well over a decade, as the coordinator for the Suzuki program and String Department. Ms. Gerson taught a violin pedagogy course in Spain at The University of Alcalá de Henares and directed a summer festival at the Accademia Lorenzo Perosi in Italy.
