Additional Schedule InformationThe University of Louisville and SAA teacher trainer Kirsten Marshall offer Suzuki Violin Unit 3. This course deepens foundation skills and focuses on the path to artistic expression in tone and timing. Vibrato and shifting are introduced. Classes meet together on five Mondays from 9am-Noon EST. Observations are completed asynchronously and discussed in class.

Audition: Violin Basic, or Violin Intermediate, or Violin Comprehensive, or Viola Intermediate, or Viola Comprehensive.

Trainer Information
Kirsten Marshall, director of orchestral programs and violin instructor, is on faculty at Ithaca Talent Education (NY) and lecturer in Suzuki pedagogy at University of Louisville. She received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music in violin performance and Suzuki pedagogy, as well as a bachelor’s degree in music education from Case Western Reserve University. Her conducting studies were with David Einfeldt (Hartt School of Music). Ms. Marshall is an active violinist in the Ithaca area and holds the David and Lesli Sagan chair of the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, Ithaca’s professional ensemble. She is frequently sought after as a string clinician at Suzuki institutes and workshops across the United States. Ms. Marshall is a registered violin teacher trainer with the Suzuki Association of the Americas. Her high-energy style blends humor and passion, engaging players at the highest level for riveting performances.
