The American Suzuki Journal, Vol. 44 #4, is coming out soon. Here is a sneak peek at just a few of the many interesting articles.

  • Yumi Kendall reports on the inception of The Suzuki Alumni Project, their first inaugural recital, and exciting plans for the upcoming year.

  • A summary of the SAA’s 17th Biennial Conference, with specifics from the areas of bass, cello, viola, violin, flute, guitar, harp, recorder, piano, voice, Early Childhood Education, and Suzuki in the Schools.

Thanks to SAA Staff Members

Chris Davis, our publications designer for 13 years, has moved on to other artistic endeavors. We miss her, but she remains involved as our newsletter cartoonist and as an enthusiastic Suzuki mom.

Christie Felsing completed a two-year staff position recently. We appreciated her excellent work on Parents as Partners Online and our newsletter Short Score and her support for the Retreat and the Conference. She is now teaching and doing teacher training at the Hartt Community Music School. We wish to thank both Chris and Christie for sharing their talents with the SAA.

The staff has welcomed Cheryl Armstrong as the new designer. She comes to us from a career in association publications design in the Denver area. We also welcome Margaret Watts Romney, whom many know as a Suzuki Cello Teacher in Salt Lake and a Suzuki alumni. We look forward to her addition to the staff as well.

Wanting more training?

Did you know there are Every Child Can! courses and instrument unit training courses available all during the year? Look up your instrument here to see what’s being offered.
