Dear Friends of John Kendall, As many of your know, last Tuesday, November 23rd, John Kendall suffered a stroke at his home in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I am happy to report that he is doing quite well and his condition has improved remarkably. I visited with him yesterday and found him to be very much the John Kendall we all know and love. John would love to hear from all of you. If you would like to communicate with him, please send letters and cards, rather than emails or phone messages. He would very much enjoy hearing from you. Other means of communication will be difficult for him at this time. John Kendall Susan and Christopher Kendall wrote yesterday, “The loss of independence involved in all this has somewhat restricted degree of mobility and some ongoing medical interventions are hard for Dad to accept.” John told me he was looking forward to going outside for his daily walk, using a new walker that will have wheels. He is determined to return to his daily schedule. I asked him what to report to you all and he said “Tell everyone that I can still tell amusing stories.” He went on to say, “I asked my young cellist granddaughter what are the three most amazing inventions of mankind. She responded, fire, the wheel, and then I coached her to say, the third is unit practicing.” Sincerely, |
