New Online Training Registration SystemThe teacher training course registration process has been moved online for Institutes this summer, and, if all goes well, will be implemented for all teacher training venues: workshops, apprenticeships, etc. What does this mean for teachers?Most of all: less paperwork to remember! Your training this summer will be registered with the SAA automatically by the Institutes—no need for you to mail forms or fees to the SAA. As soon as your training has been registered, usually a few weeks after your course, you will be notified by email. You can then go online and view/print an updated record of SAA registered training. By drastically reducing the amount of paper and postal mail, this new registration process is also environmentally friendly. Online AccessYou can always view your registered training and other membership records online at: While you’re there, you can add a picture and bio for the online directory, sign up for the public teacher location service, or change your address. If you have not already done so, you will need to set up a website user account. Just click the “Create An Account” button on the login screen to begin. Online Membership RenewalsYou can now renew your SAA membership online, instantly, at any time it is convenient for you. https://suzukiassociation.org/forms/renewal/ Minijournal Cover Contest Winners This year’s Minijournal cover was drawn by Mia Lei, age 8, of Potomac Falls, VA. To see the runners-up, go online at: Attend a Focus Meeting This SummerFocus meetings are being held at Institutes across the US and Canada this summer. If you will be at an Institute, plan to attend the meeting to learn more about recent SAA projects and brainstorm questions to be answered by a panel of Suzuki Experts. Certificate of Achievement The SAA recently launched its Certificate of Achievement, Level 1, and applications have started to come in! The Suzuki Association of the Americas is committed to excellence in teaching and to establishing standards within the framework of the Suzuki philosophy. This Certificate provides the recognition that teachers who are working toward this standard want and deserve. While the SAA Certificate of Achievement Program is not a certification, it provides a viable measure of achievement and commitment beyond the basic registration of units. By engaging in this process you will not only grow as a teacher, but contribute to the growth and professionalism of Suzuki education in the Americas.
