Greetings fellow violin teachers! Violin Student Master ClassesI am happy to announce that the 2014 SAA Conference will feature a master class opportunity for students playing pieces from the suggested supplemental repertoire list for Suzuki Violin levels 6, 7 and 8, in addition to master classes for students working on the Mozart Concerti and beyond. I am very excited about this new opportunity to see examples of how these pieces can be taught in a master class setting, so please let all of your qualifying students know about these sessions and help them send in auditions by October 15. Suggested Supplemental Repertoire List Master Class Audition Requirements Student auditions must be submitted online no later than October 15. Violin Session ProposalsIn addition to these master classes, we are looking forward to receiving many presentation and session proposals from you, the SAA membership. In particular, for violin sessions, we are looking for proposals focused on Group class techniques. Examples are: bow techniques, tone, book 6 and up group, pre-Twinkle group, supplemental pieces and other techniques. These sessions could be presented in a group class format (you leading a class with session participants/teachers as the students) or in a panel set up. I would love to see tons of session proposals come in. The larger the pool from which we can make our selections, the better our conference will be. More Information on Session Proposals The deadline for session proposals is October 25. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Sincerely, James Hutchins |
