We are pleased to announce the exciting line-up of titles and presenters that will be featured in 2017. Parents and teachers will have access 24/7 to more than 45 short talks which address such Suzuki-related topics as practice tips, parent-child relationships, philosophy, listening, motivation and more!

  • Video: Talks average 10 minutes each, with some under 3 minutes!
  • Audio: Got car time? How about a “podcast” format from your phone?
  • Print: Transcripts available for our newest talks as well.

For a more in depth experience, consider planning a PPO Parent Gathering! Read how various programs have structured get-togethers and promoted PPO in their studios.

Summer institutes can be a time of great rejuvenation, inspiration, and musical growth. As one parent said, “Institutes are like a family trip to Disneyland except everyone plays a musical instrument.” Curious about this experience? Read 25 great reasons to attend institute.

Chapter Affiliates come alive!

Chapter Wise Newsletter Launched

Are you in a leadership position in your local SAA Affiliated Chapter? Then in January you will be receiving an e-newsletter created just for you—Chapter Wise: News From and For SAA Chapters. There will be news from the SAA, spotlight on an individual chapter’s activity, stories of Chapters that found solutions, and links to educational articles on leadership.

Why be a leader in a chapter? For one thing, you can learn, gain, and grow your own leadership skills. Additionally it helps provide a place for your local Suzuki community to gather, educate, support, and celebrate its teachers, parents, and students.

SAA Member Opportunity

Did you know membership gives you this opportunity?

SAA Teacher Development scholarships provide tuition assistance for pedagogy study at approved Summer Institutes, Latin American Festivals, workshops, or through other SAA-approved Teacher Development programs.

Decisions are based on merit, with consideration also given to need. Awards are limited to the study of Suzuki book units and the SAA Practicum and paid directly to the Institute, university or sponsoring agency.

Applications must be submitted/postmarked by
February 5, 2017, midnight MST.

The Suzuki Association of the Americas is committed to excellence in teaching and to establishing standards within the framework of the Suzuki philosophy. Recognizing teachers with a commitment to life‐long learning and self‐improvement is part of SAA’s commitment to excellence.

Certificate of Achievement Level 1

The process was developed within the framework of the Suzuki philosophy and was designed to encourage self‐evaluation and professional growth. While the SAA Certificate of Achievement Program is not a certification, it provides a viable measure of achievement and commitment beyond the basic registration of units. By engaging in this process you will not only grow as a teacher, but contribute to the growth and professionalism of Suzuki education in the Americas.

Every Child Can! is a one-day introductory course on the Suzuki philosophy and its application to education. ECC is a great addition to your workshop or weekend event. For parents, teachers, prospective teachers and others, this course provides an inspiring, in-depth look at the Suzuki approach to teaching and learning. For teachers, ECC serves as the first course in the Suzuki Association of the Americas Teacher Development Program. To learn more, read about the ECC course and its guidelines.
