WishingThe joy of music is exemplified in this beautiful video of over 450 students singing Wishing at the 2nd Suzuki Encuentro in Morelia, Mexico. Conducted by Ernesto “Tato” Garcia Velasco, this performance was part of the May 2015 final festival concert that featured violin, viola, cello, flute, harp, guitar, and piano students. Wishing is a special piece Dr. Suzuki wrote for students to sing and play for their parents. Japanese students first performed it at the 1967 Annual Concert in Tokyo and was originally written for violin, voice, and piano. A string quartet arrangement of Wishing was published in the 1998 SAA Minijournal. Words to Wishing in Spanish are below: Mamá, papá, ayúdame, por favor ayúdame,

Host a SPA CourseSuzuki Principles in Action (SPA) is a two day, cross-instrumental course designed to help teachers incorporate Suzuki’s principles effectively in their teaching. The inspiration for SPA came from a need, identified by both Trainers and Teacher Workshop Participants, to deal with the challenges of implementing the knowledge gained from unit courses into the reality of day-to-day studio teaching. Are you interested in hosting a course in your area? We are now accepting applications for SPA courses to be held during the 2015-2016 academic year. Click here for more information!
